I love the below quote by ee cummings. I have it hanging in both of my big kids rooms as a reminder for us all to be who we are made to be. Growing into who we are made to be is one of the hardest things to do when the world around us is constantly telling us who to be. My hope is that if I can instill in each of my children who they are as unique beings then they will have a deeper sense of self as they grow into adults. I find great joy in carrying the privilege of daily whispering the truth to each of my children who they are and why that is important. It is such a great reminder, to us as parents, to not only discipline but to also build up our children and their real, deep selves. They need to know who they are as individuals before they leave the comfortable nest of home. Name them. Bless them. And they will fly.
