Bubbles + Twins | Nashville Baby Photographer
This was my second time to photograph these adorable twin boys. It is always beyond my comprehension to see how much they grow in such a short time. These two boys, at almost one, were absolutely perfect. They had the sweetest personalities and were so at ease. The bubbles completely mesmerized them as you can see from the photo below.

Cherish | Nashville Baby Photographer
I love a 3rd child. They are cherished beyond belief because the parents truly understand how quickly time flies. And this sweet family is no exception. They just seemed to breathe in the miracle of this new life second by second. Never a cease of amazement of the tiny fingers and toes. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to come into your home and experience the joy of your new love! Enjoy a few of my favorites... Scrumptious.

I wish I had the time & energy to actually write something but I don't. We are in the middle of moving out of our home that we have lived in for 8 years. The longest place I have ever lived. So many emotions... In between packing boxes, I get to look at beautiful faces like this sweet little boy! And an interesting fact that I found out once I got to their house is that they are going to be just around the corner from our new home! So fun...

Remembering | Nashville Children's Photographer
I feel like every time I write in the next few months it is going to be about this subject. It balloons in my mind at all times and sometimes feels like it is going to bust at the mere mention of change. There are a ton of changes going on for our family right now - moving, kindergarten, new job, etc. And I'm not really sure if I can handle any more changes right now. Don't get me wrong- I really like change. I find it fun and interesting. Yet as I grow older I realize that change always involves loss. The loss of what has been and what will never be again. I could talk about each of our changes in this way for hours. But I won't bore you (right now that is) with my emotional thoughts. I am sure when it comes time for us to walk out of our home for the last time, my words will not be able to be contained. And I know that the day I walk my baby girl into kindergarten, the tearful letting go will find its way on these imaginary pages. But right now, I keep it vague with the sense that I am going to grieve slowly and surely. For that's the only thing I can do. As I was editing the photos below of this sweet family, I was constantly reminded of the power of photographs to help us remember. They really wanted to remember their life as it is because they knew their current house would not be theirs for much longer. There really is such a gift in photography - the still beauty of a moment in time that can never be claimed again. It's gone forever yet we can hold the memory in our hands as we remember the beauty that once surrounded us. What I do is important and I don't take it lightly. My hope is that they can truly remember the beauty of their life as it once was, and will never be again. Enjoy a few of my favorite....
Moving On | Nashville Baby Photographer
This was my second time to photograph this adorable family of 3. And I was both excited and sad to find out that they were moving to Texas. But also could understand since we are going through the moving process ourselves. (that is if moving across town actually counts) Moving is such a bittersweet experience. So sweet in the fact that you are able to give yourself a new beginning. A fresh slate to write a new chapter of your story. The bitterness is in the ending of an old chapter. Especially a chapter that included firsts in your family. The first time you lived together as a married couple. Walking in the front door with your firstborn. The hallways have memories. I can almost hear the little pitter patters of feet running down our little hallway with the wooden floor. Beginnings always means there is an end. And I know we will miss this part of our story as I am sure this beautiful family will too as they start their new life in Texas. For now, enjoy these memories of your last days in the great state of Tennessee. What a beautiful way to remember....
A Little Old Fashioned | Nashville Baby Photographer
My sweet friend wanted me to capture her beautiful 7 month old little baby girl in photographs that looked a bit old fashioned. I jumped at the opportunity to do something a little different than my normal approach to a shoot. I loved how the pearls added to the effect of the vintage look. And that hat - seriously? Here are a few that I really love.... Enjoy!

Best of 2011 Photo Contest | Nashville Photographer
The annual contest is going to look a little different this year. So make sure you read the guidelines carefully to fully participate. Since it is 2011, I have chosen 11 photographs to represent the "best of." And believe me, it was very, very hard to narrow it down to 11. And since this contest is also on Facebook, I only chose clients photographs who were my fans on Facebook. So if you are not a fan, then become one because I give away lots of fun stuff on it!
This is always my favorite time of year because I love my clients and I really love giving back. And, not going to lie- I like a little more comments on my blog than normal too. I mean, anything would be more than normal. Where is the love, people?!?! :)
So here's the deal...
1) You can only vote twice. One on the blog (under comments) and another on my Facebook page.
2) There are multiple ways to win:
-The photograph with the most votes will win a 16X20 Canvas valued at $275. The second photo with the most votes will win a 16X20 Print valued at $99. The third photo with the most votes will win a 11X14 Print valued at $60.
-Everyone who votes will be entered into a random drawing for a FREE mini session valued at $350. Your name will be entered in twice if you vote on my blog and on Facebook. And to make it even more fun, I am able to track how many times you shared the link via Facebook and every time you share it on your wall - your name will be entered in again. The more you share, the better chance you have at winning! {if you share without the link from the original contest post, please tag me so i can keep up with those as well}

Favorites of 2011 | Nashville Photographer
So it's about time for the Favorites of the Year contest again! I feel like I just did this yesterday and it was a year ago. Wow! This year it is going to be a bit different- it will take place on my Trone Photography Facebook page. So make sure you have "liked" the page in order to receive updates on the contest! Here is the link: http://www.facebook.com/tronephotography I really love New Years Day and thinking back on some of my favorite things about 2011. So I thought I might make a few list of some of my favorites of the year. Hope something on my lists make your 2012 a little brighter!
Favorite Books Read:
Philippa Gregory - The Other Boleyn Girl, The Boleyn Inheritance, The White Queen, The Constant Princess - I have read all 4 of these just since Thanksgiving. They can be a little addicting so beware!
Ken Follett - The Fall of Giants - The first in a trilogy of books following a group of characters throughout the 20th century. This one delves into the history of WWI and the Russian Revolution. Fascinating.
Eric Metaxas - Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet - This is probably one of the most impactful books I have ever read. Bonhoeffer was a man like no other and to read about his life was inspiring beyond belief.
Suzanne Collins - The Hunger Games - When my sister-in-law recommended these books to me, I just knew I would hate them. But she was right & I was wrong. A teen fiction trilogy that will leave you dying to see the movie.
Favorite Movies:
This category is lacking for a number of reasons. 1) I usually have to pay someone in order to go watch a movie. 2) I do not enjoy watching movies at home. 3) It was just a bad year for movies, in my humble opinion. But here goes what I have...
Midnight in Paris - For me to list this as one of my favorites, I know it has to be a bad year for the movies. I love Woody Allen movies but this one did not rank as high as I would have hoped. A little too cheesy at times for me but still a well directed movie with an interesting plot. And it doesn't hurt that it was in Paris either.
Food Inc - I just got around to watching this documentary this year and it really fascinated me. I have always been interested in the production of food and the health repercussions because of it. This only reinforced my belief in buying local, organic food as much as possible.
Babies - Another documentary on 4 different babies from different countries. Story telling at its finest.
This is about all the favorites I can handle now. Stay tuned to a few new sessions that I will post!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!
Waiting | Nashville family photographer
I've been thinking a lot about waiting lately. That's what this season is all about - the anticipation of what is to come. We countdown the days until December 25th. As children we long for Christmas morning so we can run down the stairs to see what presents are under the tree. As adults we long for Christmas so we can be with those we love. But do we really allow our hearts to long for more? Are we brave enough to put our hearts on the line and yearn for what we cannot see with our eyes and touch with our hands? I'm not sure I am. It's so much easier to long for those things that are tangible - something with skin that I can touch and know is true. Yet they always disappoint. They never live up to the anticipation that causes my heart to beat a little harder with every day passing. There is a loss once it passes. We all know that feeling once the presents are opened and the food is put away. The anticipation is gone and a sort of sadness takes its place. Maybe I'm not brave enough to hope for more. But I'm really hoping that I can open my heart just enough to let a little light in this Christmas. And maybe in 10 years the light will be enough to fill up the darkness. Here is a beautiful friend of mine that has taught me a lot about waiting in the midst of hopelessness. And has shared her story with us all to give us all hope of a story redeemed.

New Beginnings | Nashville Newborn Photographer
I love to know the stories of those I photograph. It allows me a small glimpse into who they are and where they come from. This sweet family of three has a story of new beginnings. Not only a new, beautiful baby but also of a home that has been renewed. You see, they were affected by the Nashville flood last year. Their entire house was flooded with water almost to the ceilings. They had to replace everything & start over. And in starting over, they are able to share it with their first, beautiful baby girl. And to top it off - look at the red hair! I about died when I walked in and saw her beautiful red, curly hair. I have to admit that I have been coveting red hair since I saw "Florence & the Machine" perform at the U2 Concert. Her red hair about made me run straight to CVS & buy a box of Crimson red Nice n Easy. So photographing beautiful, red hair makes me really happy, needless to say. :)
Enjoy this little peek into a few of my favorites.... And enjoy your sweet beautiful baby girl!!
Laughter | Nashville Newborn Photographer
I was so excited to have the opportunity to shoot this fun family of four last week. The Mom is a friend of mine who constantly is making me laugh. I ran across a quote last night and it made me think of her: "laugher is a bubbly, effervescent form of holiness." anne lamott
She is a friend who brings laughter in my life every time I am around her. And sometimes it really feels holy. Something that only comes from the deepest place of Spirit. And I am thankful.
So here is her beautiful new baby boy and her amazingly smart and beautiful almost 5 year old. Oh, and the husband - let's not forget him. :)
Beautiful Girls | Nashville Family Photographer
I met up with this cute family of four last weekend for a session. The oldest is about to turn three so they wanted to make sure to capture some beautiful photos of her. And, obviously, that was not hard to do. That beautiful hair. Those beautiful eyes. And to top it all off- she had an adorable, fiery personality! The baby did not care for the ground- she made the cutest shivers when her bottom touched the leaves. And, again- those eyes. Beautiful. Thanks again for a great time and I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites!
She's One! | Nashville Baby Photographer
I've been photographing this cutie since she was in her Momma's tummy. And now she just turned ONE! We met up at the Opryland hotel here in Nashville because it was a cold and foggy Saturday morning. There is a ton of natural light streaming through the glass roof so it's a perfect place to go when its cold. Just make sure to stay away from the fake lampposts as backdrops. :) Thanks so much for allowing me to chronicle the first year of your sweet baby girls life. It has been a joy and an honor to watch her grow through the lens of my camera. And its been fun to get to know all of you in the process! Enjoy a few of my favorites....
Baby Love | Nashville Newborn Photographer
Walking into homes of newborns makes me automatically long for the days of the newness of life. There is something about a home with a new little person that just outpours with hope and joy. Yes, there are also tired eyes and weary minds yet underneath it all, there exists a sense of belonging that you just can't manufacture. If I could manufacture that feeling, then I would be living in an old, yet remodeled mansion on Belmont Blvd. (non-nashvillians that means a really big, expensive house) :) So I try to breathe it in and take a little bit of it home with me as my 5 year old whines and my 2 year old throws a tantrum. I want to remember the hope that we breathed as the newness settled into our home for the first time. The newness is definitely settling into this charming home of now a family of three. And their new sweet boy is brimming with beautiful, scrumptious baby love. He stayed awake almost the entire shoot but was amazing throughout it all. Thank you so much for inviting me in to your home and spending time with your beautiful baby boy. It was a joy!
